Terri J. Engles was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and raised in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma. Terri obtained her undergraduate degree in Accounting at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, graduating Summa cum Laude. While at OSU, Terri was active in the community with volunteer work and active on campus, including being President of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
After graduating from OSU, Terri entered the University of Oklahoma College of Law where she graduated in the top 25% of her class. During her time in Norman, Terri was active in her law school class, and she also volunteered with the CASA organization. While in law school, Terri interned for nearly 2 years with the firm of Edmonds, Cole, Hargrave before realizing it was criminal law that interested her most. At that point, Terri moved her intern work to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office where she worked as an intern on the felony docket until earning her license to practice law. From there, she was hired to prosecute felonies in the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office, an honor bestowed upon few new prosecutors. During her tenure at Oklahoma County, Terri successfully prosecuted cases ranging from simple domestic abuse to Murder I. After prosecuting for many years, Terri determined that private practice and criminal defense was the best path for her. At that point, Terri opened the firm of Terri J. Engles, P.C. and has been vigorously defending the rights of her clients ever since.
